meatball application
Last week I applied 4 brand new FinishLine meatballs for a local tour. I applied them dry, just rubbing all the bubbles out as best I could. When I recovered the ones that blew off, I realized that I must be missing a trick in the application process.
What is the best application process? Straight water with a sponge or squeege (won't the water dry out?). Perhaps adding a little glycerin to the water to make it last? Do you prefer a sponge or squeege or some other applicator? The look is great, but not if they blow off. Thanks! |
I found that a little dish soap in the water works great. I never had them fly off at any speed for several years.
Get a litt water on the car, slap them on there and squeegy out the bubbles. Probably should let sit for a while... |
I put mine on the night before the race or show for maximum stick. Sometimes I use a little soap, helps to move into them into place "just right". Sometimes just water.
Sometimes right at the track! It's usually HOT here with low humidity. Plain water, squeegy, and a few minutes in the right conditions and your good to go. Otherwise, let it sit overnight. I tried the "dry" method, it don't work! |

Use a brier (sp) a small rubber roller to roll out the windex. The roller is better than a squeege because you can apply greater pressure without pulling on or scraching the meatball.
Let them sit over night. If on a leading edge curve or you have to cut for a body pannel you can use hair gell like the kids use to spike their hair. Scott |
We just polish them in with a little Mother's Polish and some elbow grease:D :D :D
Sorry, I couldn't resist. We have had great success with a little soap and water. You need to make sure everything is perfectly clean though, or NOTHING will stick. David:) :) :) AKA smart "A" |
