manufacturers

Howzit everybody,

Just was wondering if all replica cobras out there are the same or do different manufacturers add their own subtle styles to their bodies? What are some reputable companies and are there any that I should watch out for?

Aloha,
C.C.

Differences range from subtle to massive from one manufacturer to another. Last weekend we had five Cobras at the Kapolei Cruise In and were discussing the subtle differences between all five cars. ERA, FFR, Hi Tech, Classic Roadster and Contemporary. All with discernible differences to the "trained eye".

This Saturday night, Windward Mall, might be two Cobras there about 5 pm for the Cruise In. Hard to say, looks like rain, we might not show up. There are about a dozen replicas on Oahu that we know of FOR SURE, rumor has it there are more.

Send me a PM or e-mail if you'd like to check 'em out sometime.

Also depends on what you want. If you like the 289 Cobra better than the 427 design, there are only a few companies making them. Get the latest Curt Scott Cobra book for an overview of many of the manufacturers and some basic info on the differences (prices and construction -from "donor" to "identical aluminum car"). Another big factor ($$$ being the biggest) is delivery time; some are available quickly and others have a considerable waiting list/time.

claytonchoo,
Check this out. I put most all the Cobra replica makers on a map and links to their websites.

Dreaming of a Cobra,
Thanks for the map. I too am dreaming of one day owning a Cobra and this really helps in finding a manufacturer that makes a cobra with the looks that I want.

Aloha
