Looks like this is the week!

Likely that my motor will dyno late this week! FINALLY my cobra will be properly assembled and back on the street! Here's the last parts work I had to do to get ready for my engine builder.. my intake, valve covers and water pump are prepped for ZOOP seal, and I will finish them this afternoon. The water pump base/front seal cover was too corroded and ugly and intricate to polish, so I had it powdercoated satin black. The gopher can't wait for a road trip!

Boy, do I do good work!
(It was a very time consuming task as anyone who has done it can attest!)

WHOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEE! SHINY!!!

I've never polished an intake manifold or water pump, but I've spent my share of time polishing other stuff and if I had to do an intake manifold...I wouldn't. I'd get somebody else to do it. Mine is powdercoated silver and that's fine by me.

Nice job.

Now that you have done a really cool job on my intake manifold, when are you going to start on yours?

Lord, that's... impressive.

No, ramp that up...

Intimidating. Yeah, that's the ticket.

I knew it was only a matter of time...

Before snake-lovers started asking me to do THEIR intakes!:JEKYLHYDE

The reason I did my own polishing was a deep-seated need (fear?) to do as much as I could myself this time so as to ensure it was done RIGHT. Any of you that remember my saga of my so-called "turnkey" will understand !
I just had to do this myself to make sure it was done right and on time. Heading over to the parts right now to ZOOP 'em, and hoping to get my motor back in by next weekend.. then it's to the tranny shop for the tranny/bellhousing install. While it was all out I had EVERYTHING powdercoated including having the tranny split and coated. New McCleod clutch/pressure plate and Tilton hydraulic TO bearing too. It's gonna be sweet to see her back on the road!

One more thing...

The intake said "Torker II 460"

Convenient time to remove the "460" !! [Since my motor is a 514]

I did so very carefully with my 4 inch grinder and then worked that area over with nary a ripple left.. wish I had the time to have a "514" engraved in there %/
