Dual quad crowd - 2x4 linkage question

I was wondering what linkage kit you guys are using for dual quad set up with holley 450's (model 0-9776). The intake is a blue thunder 427 medium riser. I know carl's reproductions sells a 427 linkage kit for the origional BK/BJ's but will it adapt to the 450's? From what I've learned the 450's are the most user friendly once you get them set up correctly. Any one with this set up like to share some of your experience with these? Thanks

Just use the Medium riser linkage available from Carl's or Obsolete Ford Parts. You may have to order a couple of trunions to hook up to the carbs. Obsolete has them.

I got a standard reproduction of the Ford linkage, with the slotted link for progressive action. After trying the progressive setup for awhile, I thought the transition from one carb to two...seemed to "come in" too suddenly, so I changed to a synchronized linkage (where both primaries open together) by replacing the rear slotted link to one of the front short links.
With my 390 CFM carbs the throttle response with progressive linkage was very crisp, and mileage was better, but my plugs indicated that some cylinders (front if I remember right) were running leaner than others. I may try the progressive and jetting up later this summer. If I really feel like a challenge, I've got a pair of 600 CFM carbs I've been wanting to dial in...

I checked out obsolete-ford-parts and they have a rear throttle arm for the medium riser but not a kit. They did have a kit for 2x4 (high riser, tunnel port, and cammer) part # c5az-9700-lrk. I'm not sure if this would work for my 450's medium riser application. I also couldn't see any tri-unions. Are they called something else? Thanks

Nevermind about finding the linkage. I found a guy selling a 427 medium riser kit on ebay for $65. But another question, I have a chance to get some holley 465's (1848's). The advantage over the 0-9776 450's are that they have vaccum secondaries. And someone said that the linkage will bolt right up. This quad set up is going in my Galaxie 390 (medium cam) with a c-6 so the vaccum is needed. Should I go for them and return the 450's?

On my original FORD 2X4 alloy Hi Riser intake the front and rear carbs do not "share" the intake runners.

The front carb feeds ONLY the front four cyls, the rear serves ONLY the rear. There is no plenum "connection" between the two.

Therefore, with that type of manifold you HAVE to run linkage that opens both carbs together.

Joe, #C5AZ-9700-LRK fits everything but a Low Riser.
Trunnion is #C3AZ-9C760-A (If needed)
Personally, I think the vacuum secondaries will work better in your application.
