Ultimate Weber setup

Went to a car show Friday night and saw this combo. Had to go home and get my camera. I don’t know anything about it. It did idle real smooth though. Could 8 be too many? http://webpages.charter.net/howley23/webers1s.jpg

Webers gone Wild! :JEKYLHYDE

An early 409, (possible 348) Chev modor. How in the heck does the throttle linkage work? ,,,,check out the early Hemi in the background.

Now THAT was a cool car show!

Bet that little "A" coupe screams down the straights, one carb tuned for one cylinder, down draft and side draft, old time(or as Ernie says "in the day") hotrodding. Does look like a 409 from the valve cover and head. Usually we don't see much other than the typical 350 Chevy powered rod up here let alone something like that or a Hemi.

Forget the uniquness of the carbs, how about that intake manifold. Wow. That would have taken some incredible fabrication. I would bet that the main jets are pretty lean on both ends and that the chokes are 37mm. While the downdraft Webers look like 48 IDAs, the DCOE sidedrafts look pretty small. Note the air horn difference between the two carburetors. I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't something south of 40mm.

Impressive picture. "She's real fine--my 409".
