RUCC Kit
Hi all, I believe a few on this forum have a finished RUCC kit and would like to know your thoughts on it, handling, ride, quality?

unfinished rucc kit
I have a kit that was started but it is incomplete and would love to find someone with experience with this particular build. This kit has been through different owners but I would like to be the one that finishes it. Sorry about the chevy engine but thats what was in it. Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated.

Great to see a more RUCC owners out there, I think that makes us about 4 or 5 strong on this site.
As Juggernaut said, check out RAW web page, its the only, and a really great build site for RUCC's. I printed every picture out and made a manual out of it to use during my build, it was very helpful. I am just about done with my RUCC build, dont have any seat time to speak of, but hope to soon. I have a painter coming to look at and and get me scheduled in and expect to have it completed in the next month. So far I loved the kit and build seems to be a really well built and safe kit. I hope to break into the digital world soon and get me a camera so I can post some pictures. Juggernaut, your looks great, love the green. Good luck on both your builds and if I can be of any help feel free to ask, always willing to toss out thoughts and my experiences from my build if it will help. What color ??????? That is the tough question, not which kit.
Original plan since day one was a deep blue with white stripes, not because it is a good color for a Cobra, but because my favorite color is blue, and I love the look of it with white stripes. Well after several years at Double Venom and London Cobra Show and seeing the vast ocean of blue cobras (which I love) I thought I have to come up with something slightly different. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO......At this point my Cobra will be painted with Chrylser colors. The car will be Sunburst Pearl Orange (looks like the older burnt orange or prowler orange), with stripes and meatballs painted in their Cool Vanilla (which is the newer creme or off white color they have now), with Magnesem team stripes (this is a blueish / gun metal grey type color). This is the plan today, which is subject to change at any point up until the time the paint actual dries on the car. Of this whole build of which kit, what brakes, which wheels, ect...ect...ect... the hardest and most draining lost of sleep decision is WHAT COLOR ???? Jim |
Jim, sounds like a pretty cool color combo. Now, the question is will you stick with it or see another combo you like better?%/
I went back and forth between burgendy & green for months before going with the green. Green won out since it's the color of money & as you know these cars can be money pits!:eek: Randy |

You got that right, there is always a little something extra that would look cool or be neat to have on your Cobra that seems to cost more then it should. Like I said my color choice is open to change up until the paint hits the car so who knows what color it will really end up like. Quick quetion on your build, what did you make or buy for the aluminum shroud in your oil cooler opening and the large mouth opening for the radiator, it looks great. I am currently in the process of trying to figure out what to put in here and how to mount it. Any information, pictures or details of what you did would be great, I really like it and it really looks good. Jim |

Thanks for the compliment! A friend of mine & myself made the aluminum shrouds for the oil cooler intake & the radiator intake. I'll pm you some pics & the details of the install. I even had a friend where I work make aircraft type red "intake covers" with "Remove Before Flight" streamers on them just as a joke! I like to put them in when people come over to look at the Cobra just to see the looks on their faces! Randy |

Not sure what I am going to do for these intakes on mine, not sure I can pull off something like what you did and have it look as good. I know Ralph used the finishline piece for the oil intake and made some angles pieces up for the radiator intake that mounted to the framing in the nose, it looked pretty good as well. Jim |

Just cheecked out your gallery, great looking RUCC as well, love the ghost/metal flake stripes that show up in the sun light. The aluminum in the engine compartment was a good itea, looks good. You have a really good looking shroud set up for your radiator and oil cooler intake holes. Looks like it was made up from aluminum sheeting curled around mounted to the framing in the nose area? Any pictures, details, or information on your shroud construction would be great also. Thanks...Jim |
