Streetbeast Building Information
I am looking for some information on a streetbeast assembly. I am in the process of dropping in the motor and setting the cowl/firewall in the correct position. I need a measurment on the correct spacing of the cowl/firewall. Mine does not have the dimples that are outlined in the manual. Also, I only have two holes that were pre -drilled for the motor mounts. Are those the back or the front. I think there the front but want to make sure.
Also, please no smart a** remarks from non-streetbeast folks. |
Its been a while since I did my motor mounts but I believe you are correct about them being the front holes. I'll look when I get home and make sure. On the measurement I will check it also when I get home. Where are you StreetSnake??

what engine are you putting in the car, do you have the short version or the long version body, mine is an older version before they came out with the stretch car

I live in Ohio. I'm putting in a 351/427 FI motor. I have the short version not the stretch. Any help that you guys can give i would really appreciate it. Thanks

Sorry, forgot I had to work my other job last night and today. Was supposed to get off at 6 today and now they tell me I have to stay till midnight. Back at 10am tomorrow. Supposed to get off at 6pm tomorrow and will check then. Earl

it depends on the mounts you use, I used the energy suspension motor and transmission mounts, they had two bolts to the block and one large bolt and a dial pin to the frame mount, I had to build the frame mounts to fit the motor mounts, I bolted the frame mount using the four predrilled holes in the frame, I used a T5 transmission (with the short bellhousing) and a four link Mustang GT rear, my drive shaft is 14" , the dimples where on the jelcoat side of the firewall cowl, I had to modify the cowl frame to make my pedal setup work, I cut the back leg on the drivers side and extended it back to give me room for the pedals, I can give you measurements, however I am working 12 hr shifts and will not be off again until Wednesday

iput a 351 w in mine go to sb web site there is a picture of motor mounts from a customer helped a little. dont drill other holes until you try motor snd trans in frame

The holes in the frame are for the front of the SBF (small block ford, 289,302,351-w) motor mounts. Make sure you have the mounts on the correct side. The tubes for the bolts are almost horizontal.
I'll check the cowl spacing when I get home but the firewall is about 1" in-front of the steering colume support. Maybe it's time to post some picts! |
Holes for the cowl Steering support are 12 3/4" and 18 1/2 from the inside of the firewall on the drivers side. IM me your phone and I'll help you figure it out.
