Vintage Good Year Tires Look - Suggestions requested

Hi guys,

Does any one have an idea where I can get the Old Billboard Good Year Eagle template to paint on the tires. I was thinKing of a more vintage look for my cobra by reversing my BF's and painting the blackwall with the good year stencil. I do alot of driving so I need a radial, but always loved the look of the billboard tires

Any suggestions
Gary

I think you need to see the Billboards in person to understand why you cannot take a regular tire and paint the logo on it ... the Billboards have a smooth sidewall with no embossing.

Go ahead and buy a set, they ride better than my prevous set of BFG's. Once warmed up they stick 10 fold better, and highway ride is smoother. The only drawback is the rocks, they throw rocks like crazy.........

Best of luck!

Too much!

Bernie, about $1400 a set landed if you can find them. Roger Krause racing, Sasco Sports Tyres or Carroll Shelby Enterprises. I believe they are hard to get due to Goodyear going on strike recently, can anyone confirm this?

The Goodyear billboards are not smooth on the side, all the lettering is embossed. But the embossment matches the painted stencil, so obviously it works fine on the actual Goodyear tire. But as you stated, you can't really paint it on another brand of tire, because it will have all it's brand lettering embossed as well.

I have the Goodyears on my car and I have no problems with them. I don't feel they throw rocks anymore than any other tire. I have almost 3000 miles on my car since the end of last summer, and have no rock tire damage on my fenders. You could always line the undersides of your fenders with thick celled foam rubber or truck bedliner, that's what many people do regardless of tire brand.

This was talked about in length just as recently as last week. Top right in CC is the search button. Type in "Group buy Billboards" and a thread is there that talks about what we had to do to purchase the "Billboards" Just got mine two weeks ago:D Mounting tomorrow:D
