Roll bar cross brace

Is there another source for a cross brace other than Finishline or Kirkham. I'll try Shelby but I'm wondering if there isn't another source. Kris Kinkaid made the one that was on the Hi Tech and I really liked it.

How about Kris Kinkaid?

I am sure "Mickmate" can provide the crossmember as your picture, drop him a line.

I don't think Kris wants to make any. He suggested Shelby.

Only problem with that type of mount is the hole(s) in the back of your head those eyelets make should someone rear-end you...but I guess you need to weigh that against the compression injury witht he belts mounted too low....

A pad can be added to the brace. I thought of doing that but sold the car.

How could those eyelets put a hole in your head? They are lower than shoulder height.

I have the identical bar as in your picture on my CSX. Might want to contact Billy at HRE as ask him where he gets them from.

Thanks, Sal. I called Bill and he will make one for $211.00 including all hardware. He just needs to know the width of the roll bar as they tend to vary from car to car.

John,
Why not weld in a cross bar like Kirkham does? This is what I am considering for my Hi-Tech.

Are you starting another car? Is it a Hi-Tech?

double ugly 06-04-2007 02:12 PM

If the roll bar was raw metal I would. It's powder coated and installed on the car.

Are you working on another Hi-Tech? Got any pics!

Nope, a carbon car from TX.. I'll post pictures when it's further along.
