dropped side oiler

I bought a standard bore side oiler in Canada and at customs apparently the fork lift dropped it. Damaged the head, cracked the block and crushed the carb. It was insured but not replaceable for the price. Am I bummed? Yes

That sucks. Glad that it is insured.

What a heart brake !

Naumoff 06-16-2007 03:14 PM

Damn. Did you check to see if the fork lift operator had a license?

FFR428 06-16-2007 03:29 PM

Ohhhh that sucks so badly!!! Man I'm sorry to hear about that. I'd put the fork lift operator under it and drop it again on his head. And a standard bore block too!!!! Ugggg... What kind of heads, intake, carb(s) were on it?

It had a Holley and Canadian SCJ heads, sidewinder intake etc. 630 HP with Rhodes lifters, gear driven cam.... Makes me sick.

I've seen baggage handlers deliberately drop guitar cases on the tarmac at the airpost and fork lift drivers "accidentally" crush part of my drumset cases when I was a musician.
I have no idea if your engine was crated or just strapped to a pallette - but sometimes nice things "accidentally" get destroyed by envy & some guy who just flat-out hates his gig. But I'm speculating.
This is a shame.

I feel for you John. That's REALLY too bad.
