That Pro-Mod exhibition burn out was the stupidest, most retarted thing I have ever seen. I cannot believe that out of all the people involved, not one person was smart enough to shoot the idea down for safety. The biggest culprit is the driver. I don't care how great of a human being people say he is, that was the dumbest decision of his life to agree to that. To think that a 2000hp ProMod car doing a burnout down a street is remotely safe, is just unthinkable. As for comparing this situation to a Cobra doing a burnout, that's pretty comical in it's own right. There is a HUGE difference between a 600hp Cobra doing a burnout and a 2000hp Pro-Mod car doing a burnout. I DO agree that both are dangerous, and lots of things can go wrong when driving a car like a Cobra, but the danger level is definitely WAY lower that that of the Pro-Mod car situation. |
Spectators and voluntary participants (such as ride passengers) at an organized event such as London Cobra Show, should certainly have the expectation that organizers and drivers would have adequate rules and safety measures in place. Being responsible for your own actions and safety is one thing, it is another altogether when your actions can affect the safety of another.

Hind sight is 20/20 but I think the problem is the guy was from Down Under and he was driving on the wrong side of the road.
They will band automobiles all together for how many people die on the highways every year. |
