Is this a Cobra steering wheel?
1 Attachment(s)
This wheel is in the Shelby prototype Sunbeam Tiger. Was this wheel the same one found in early Cobras?
The wheel is still in the car but it missing the trim piece that goes around the horn button. Does anyone know where I can get one of these trim rings?
Thanks, Doug

I sent Enzo a note so I'll see what he says. Anyone else recognize the wheel?

No it is not a Cobra wheel. The ones with that basic design had about 2" of dish.

Possibly a Derrington wheel from England that was most commonly used on late 50's and early 60's Porsche 356s. I had the same steering wheel on a racing 1958 Porsche 356A Speedster. Take your inquiry with picture to the Porsche 356 Registry website (google) and ask them. You will have a definitive answer within hours.

Sam, thank you so much for the info!!!! You're right...this has to be a Les Leston steering wheel. It looks just like it. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. Now I know what I have in my car.

My wheel is definitely a Les Leston. It has the LL down at the bottom. Now my search is on trying to find out what kind of horn button it had.
Thanks for all the input.

There`s a chance the horn push was not on the wheel, being either located on the dash or indicator stalk.

I'm trying to locate the piece it had where the horn button would be. It appears it had a center piece with a Rootes emblem in the middle. I still have the Rootes Emblem (see original picture at the start of this post) but it's just stuck in to a chunk of wood in the middle of the wheel. The piece that's missing would have covered the six bolt holes on the wheel. I've attached a picture of the car which was taken in 1964. Does anyone recognize this piece? It almost looks like it was made from wood to match the wheel.
