car wash?
Hello Gruop
I just wondering how you wash you car, please share some advice Thanks TC |
water, water, and more water..
a couple towels at the back edge of the cockpit helped keep most of the water out and a light mist with a nozzle sprayer.. |
I wait for the high school cheerleaders to have a car wash then I take it there. Actually I use Groits Speed Shine. Spray it on and wipe it off.
|
Wet Paint.

Keep it dry...I use turtle wax bug, tar and tree sap, remover to get the bugs off..spray it on rub lightly and wipe off...no water(water turns it to a gooey paste). Then use a spray detailer...Mequiers, Mothers or now my favorite, Turtle Wax Ice...it leaves no "white" on the black or rubber parts.
Only thing I use water on is the under carriage when I can't get it clean with a rag. |
MaGuires quick detailer and microfiber cloths.
|
Yep to most of the above. Rarely if ever have I taken a hose to my Cobra. I might have waxed it once. Rely on the spray detailer or Griots spray wax. detail the black side pipes with a spray (PIG SNOT) I got from the local Harley shop.

Hmm, I really don't wash my car, I like it dirty.
But when I do the once a year cleaning, it's usually with spray detailer. |
Once a year i'll clean it with water and then polish with Mequires NXT WAX,the rest of the time i use Mequires Quick Detailer.

You Should try this http://www.jorgensgarage.com/product...&cat=23&page=1

I have heard others that use a painters tape and place the tape around the interior to create a water barrier and then cover the top of the car with some kind of plastic if need be. You need to use a good quality tape, but if you don't have a top this would work for a good cleaning.

I use Zaino products on my car. I have only washed it twice in 4 years. Once before applying Zaino to cut off the old waxes, and once after WSCB in 06 when it got rained on all the way home. Stuff works great.

I dust mine off with one of those "duster wands". Then I get a bucket of warm water and a old T-shirt or a small towel as the "wash rag", and an old towel or T-shirt then wash and dry one small section at a time. (door, front fender, left side of hood, right side of hood, front section, etc etc etc).
Every couple of months the Cobra gets a wax after the wash. I currently use Meguiar's NXT. The whole wash/wax process takes less than an hour. |
