hey,littlecobra 07-10-2007 06:32 AM

nicely done, Ron. :) It almost looks like a photoessay by moi!!! :D

Saw some Dallas friends at the Banquet. How coincidental that they made your photo.
That little black car with the yellow stripe sure looks nice.

Must make that event sometime.
Kristen :)

Ron,
Hi from Mike in Cincinnati!
So how many coupes made the show? I saw at least two.
I know this is the Cobra forum, but did you get any pics or counts on R-models? I could not make it, but thanks so much for the pics!
MC

Hi Mike....good to hear from you. Coupe round-up was a no-show..
...we had the two plus one I posted about...and that's it. :o

Just 2299, 2601 and the Willment... and they were all "local residents"

I did not get any info on the R-models there, sorry.

computerworks 07-10-2007 08:08 AM

Thanks for all the great feedback and messages... :p

I will try and post some more images today, as I process them.
Thanks to Erik, CSX2009, for some fill-in pics from the Hi-Performance Motors Show area, taken Saturday a.m....I'll get some of them up as well.

computerworks 07-10-2007 08:11 AM

I missed showing this one car in the previous portfolio...duh.

Not on purpose, since it is a pretty significant car...it was just because I have seen it many times and have done a few photo shoots of the car before.

Here is CSX2431, the Ken Miles car....

Ron, Thanks

Someone needs to come up with a King Cobra Replica! Always thought that was such a cool design. well thought out in my opinion.

Power Surge 07-10-2007 11:21 AM

Were all the comp small block cars Weber powered?

DavidinDurango 07-10-2007 11:42 AM

First, we gotta thank computerworks - man for the energy that went into the images and documentation. It was 98 air degrees, probably 100 and fifteen billion on the pavement - yep, hotter than the butt cheeks on a $3 hooker!

R types. To the best of my knowledge there was only one genuine R at the meet - pointed out by my friend Len who was racing. It was so plain and so hum drum that I may have walked right past in this arena of 30 or 50 (or more) GT-350s.

I have no images but the two most intersting cars were: a white vintage GT-40 and a little black '63 falcon T/A racer. For some reason I gravitate to the unusual cars at a meet.

Thanks for the great writeup and pictures. Next best thing to being there. Does that convention ever come to NorCal?

petek 07-10-2007 12:01 PM

Great pictures and commentary Ron, thanks for sharing.

You do have encyclopedic knowledge about Cobras, don't you! :)

VRM 07-10-2007 12:34 PM

It was one great event.
But for me, meeting Ron in person was the very best part!!

Thanks Ron for showing the Cobras to me, especially the "details".

Hope to see you again soon. Kirkham also helped make it a good trip, too. Wonderful hospitality, great product, and easy to deal with people. Thanks, Kirkham for making this event fantastic.

Excellent job Ron, fantastic photos. I never get tired of seeing pictures of the Fliptop and of course King Cobras. Bet it sounded great.
My other favourite is the Ken Miles CSX2431 Cobra. Im lucky to have seen that car at Goodwood in 1997, awesome. Im sooo jealous though of you having seen the Dragonsnake. So many great cars, how can you pick a favourite? Paul

More Thanks Ron

Great pictures....

I loved seeing the street cars...

Thanks for all the hard work, even if it was great fun for you.

Mike

White GT40 SAAC 32

To David:

Is this the white GT40 at SAAC 32 that you were talking about?

http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/s...0&ppuser=27218

I'm assuming that it is gt40 p/1037 the Comstock Racing gt40?

1985 CCX 07-10-2007 06:43 PM

Ron,

Once again Thanks!
More pics of 3011 please................:p

Back to Sal's question: I don't think all comp cars came OEM with Raydot mirrors and certainly not all S/C's? I have a picture of 3020 with Tom Payne behind the wheel and the car has the std issue rearview. However 3002 and 3004 had Raydot? Were both correct? 3011 might be correct?

SAAC33? NHIS or LimeRock by chance? Hmmmmmm
