purchased my first Cobra

No more lusting, for me. From now on it will be over-indulgence, whenever I can.

Purchased a completed car from a fellow Club Cobra member. An A&C. 5.0 bored & stroked to 347 cid. Has mass flow EFI. Not my first choice for an engine, but it will do just fine. I just got home with it last night. Took it for a short drive tonight. Everything seems great so far.

Guess I should delete the blower picture and add some pictures of the car. Silly me.:JEKYLHYDE

I have no plans of bolting the blower onto the cobra, but if anyone else wants it (blower that is), I'll make them a whopper of a deal.

Here is a picture that the previous owner took for me to send in to get it insured. I have been too bussy getting tittle, tags, and driving it to take any pictures myself.

A quick story - olddogs are good at tellen stories.

I drove 986 miles to get this car. I friend insisted I take his 2003 F350 V10 and enclosed trialer to get the car. He had planned to go with me, but his mother turned ill and passed away. He insisted I take it, even though I had arranged to rent a truck. What a friend!

My father rode along to keep me company (read awake). It was a three day trip. I haven't spent three solid days with my father in decades. The trip was worth more than the car.

While loading the car up, I had three people come up asking all about it. One new exactly what it was, another suspected what it was, but wasn't certain. I think they were more excited to see it than I was to buy it.

My first ride, a boy about 13 yrs old was looking out the back window of their car with a big thumbs up and a grin almost bigger than mine. When people see it, they have an uncontrollable grin on their face, and they are nearly speachless (other than muddering man! over and over). I knew these cars were head turners, but I didn't expect quite that much attention.

The cobra looks good. I like the Thruster wheels. I had them on my '66 Mustang.

The small block stroker with the EFI is a good no hassle motor that should give you tons of driving in an economical way. Plenty of power also.

The kids are very aware of the Cobras after seeing Bad Boys etc. Not to mention the game boxes that have the Cobras on them.

Have fun driving.

Thanks Bernie.

I know it is not a show quality car. I wanted a car to drive for pleasure, not sit like a princess (although I love and respect the trailer queens).

I know it is not built, as an original. Again that was not important to me, but I love seeing them.

I will likely change a few things, but plan on leaving it pretty much as is for a while. I figure that will give me time to decide on the things I do and do not like and understand the importance of some things I am certain I do not yet know.

I'm usually pretty honest with myself - to a falt. So it doesn't bother me much when people make comments one way or the other.

Congrats old dog. Your new cobra is sweet. Driving one is a whole lot more fun then parking it just to admire it. Take your time learning about it's driving characteristics. They can be a handful under hard cornering and acceleration. I find the car is very predictable if you just respect it and the law. Have fun and play safe.

Olddog,

I remember at LCS you told me you were thinking about getting this car. Hey, I like it. Congratulations! From now on you're going to enjoy the LCS shows a lot more. You're going to draw a lot more attention than ever before, too. A lot of the questions asked will seem pretty silly. Happy for you, sir. Have fun.
