The New Toy project begins Aug 2nd

I just sold my current fox and now to build the drag car I always wanted, short and sweet over the winter I will be building my new project, looking for a 87-93 fox bod coupe. The rear will be mini tubbed, the tranny will be a built C4, the power plant will be a 408 stroker with a built proof bottom end followed by a nice little 103mm single turbo with 3 1/2 inch down pipe and exhaudt and 2 inch intake pipes and BOV. On a conservative tune the car should make a generous 900RWHP, the in kill mod the car should turn the dyno to the 4 digits

Fast, about your fox mustang that's the setup I have in my superformance. My garret turbo is 93mm however. It is the garrett 42rt rated at 1100 hp. I don't remember the cam profile exactly but i did send crower the turbo spec and we built the engine around the turbo. On a mustang dyno with 25 lbs of boost we laid down 1093 rwhp. I am running a fast engine management system so we tuned to that and called it a day. Drove the car for about a week and for street driving it was really touchy for my driving skills. We dropped the boost to 12 lbs. and the car is putting down 596 rwhp and it is a real blast to drive now. I also plan on redoing the rear end voluntarily before it becomes a necessity. We went with the tremec built t56 (viper) 6 spd. On the highway at 70 we're turning about 1200 rpm. I really like the setup as it is now, good balance and a ton of torque and hp above 3500rpm.
Incidentally, if I were to go back I think I'd put in a Big Stuff EMS instead of the Fast. My EMS causes my engine to pop and spit on hard deceleration and I am told that the Big Stuff does a better job at AF on quick deceleration. Just my 2c and current experience. I have a couple of pics in my gallery if your interested.
Good luck with your build.

Sounds like a fun project. Check out www.mautofied.com and racingjunk. there are several coupes out there that are already mini tubbed and are selling dirt cheap! If I get a minute, i may search for them and post the links. I've been eyeing them up myself, but my wife would shoot me if I said I was building a cobra AND buying another coupe! haha

This is the one I was mostly looking at. Mini tubbed, 4130 10pt cage, and a bunch of other goodies for $6200.
