Help with IDing
Hi all, Sorry for the name here (I have a few GTO's) but no Cobras .... YET
Im hoping that will change soon. I have been looking at a few cobra kit cars in the last few months, and came across one that I cant find anything about. This car, as it sits is a bit rough, has a late model Cobra Mustang 5.0 motor, large round tube frame rails, a build tag (that I need to see again and take a picture of) that says its a 1965 AC Cobra with serial numbers xxxxx and has a build location in Mexico. The back side of all the body panels are black. Not painted I think because I can see through the inside of the deck lid and that is black too. Is this Carbon Fiber????? Im a bit new to the Cobra shopping please any help will be huge. One more thing, I can get this car for about $22k us. thanks |
Hey GTO GUY, Not sure about all your details but I can tell you Factory Fives have round tube rails and use a donor motor (in your case it could be a Mustang 5.0). I don't know if they are the only one and I don't know about mexico builders. The word is "if it's too good to be true, it usually is". Good luck, John

If you can take pics and post them here, we can help ID it. In today used Cobra market $22,000 for a rough one is way to much. But it depends on what it is, brand, motor, trannie, etc.
