How much rear hub play is acceptable?

I have some rear hub play on both sides and wondering how much is acceptable? It's a CSX Cobra with the aluminum rear end. Also how would I go about tightening the rear hub?

Hi Morgan, the book says .100" which is a typo. They're supposed to have 0.001" end float which is a barely susceptible movement between spindle and upright. You can get a cheap indicator and stand to measure it. If it needs tightening the amount of shims between the bearings needs to be adjusted by the amount of end float you measure with the indicator less the one thou. This is done by taking the shim out that is that thickness or making a stack of shims that equals the original stack minus the adjustment amount. Check the bolt that holds it all together isn't loose. Thats behind the axle drive flange. I've just been playing with assembling mine and it's fresh in my mind if you want to talk about it or need any pics or anything, like a better explanation of the mumbo jumbo.
