Who wants a GT500 KR?
 
Ford has held a lottery to allocate some of the 1000 2008 GT500 KRs.
These dealers will all get at least 1 unit, so if you want to shop, start here...

I wouldn't exactly call the car slow. The regular GT500 is not "slow". Sure, it's not Z06 fast, but it also was never meant to be. It's a torque monster, heavy stoplight bruiser, just like the original GT500 was. And the KR will have more power than a regular GT500. Plus, $1000 in bolt ons and you've added over 100 more rwhp. And let's face it, nobody leaves these cars stock.

Agreed Sal.. I guess slow is a relative term. I did hand a local 554 rwhp 07 Shelby it's azz once after he spouted what he could do to a C6 Z06.. It was ugly. I did enjoy my 529 rwhp 03 Cobra though (in spite of Jim D'amore;) .. The mountain of torque is addictive. :D

Um.... Although cool, it's still a pig. Around 3870 pounds (almost 300 pounds more than it's 1968 era cousin). So when factoring in horsepower to weight you don't need a Z06 to compete with it, you can do that with a stock 2008 Vette. A Z06 will destroy it and with the prices dealers will get for the GT500KR you would probably have money left over if your bought the Z06. See the calculations below:

GT500KR: 540/ 3870 = 7.16 (p/h)
Stock C6 2008 Corvette: 436 / 3215 = 7.37 (p/h)
2008 Z06 Corvette: 500 / 3147 = 6.2 (p/h)

With a simple gear change in the stock 2008 C6 you could run the same numbers as the GT500KR and save around $15,000 off sticker, but more like $25-30,000 after the dealers get a hold of it. Just my .02

I wonder what the "additional dealer profit" will be??? I bet it will be around $35K on average.
