Okay I have it all figured out one last question which car would be better beside my 427 cobra at our local car shows a slab side or FIA. I am leaning towards FIA as is look simular.

Slabside or FIA?

FIA you have ERA (my favorite) and Kirkham and Shelby.

Don't know who does a slabside replica.

I have the SlabSide bodys. I am in negotiations with an established Cobra company (can't reveal who it is, just yet) now to supply them with bodys for their frames. If things work out , we should have something in about 90 days. E-mail Rcherv1228atAOL.com for more info.

Not sure of what the difference is between a slabside (never heard of Slabside) or FIA

FIA has flared wheel wells. The slabside wells are relatively flat compared to the FIA. The slabside was the first 260 & 289 cid cars built for the street. The FIA was for the track, and then Shelby moved onto the big block cars. The first street cars look more like an English sports car, and we all know the big blocks look like a beast.

The slabside is the AC Ace body of that period. It was what was originally fitted with the 260 then the 289. As i2f states, it looks very much the English roadster.

The FIA has flared front fenders, wide "hips" in the rear (just 1/2" narrower than the 427 rear), cut back doors, a different hood scoop than the 427, a front-braced roll bar, and it retains the original front opening of the slabside (a snarl, instead of the 427's gapping mouth) with an oil cooler scoop below. Think English roadster on steroids.

I set out to buy a 427, but went completely nuts over the body design of the original 289FIA, thus my purchase of an ERA. Love it! It's an expensive product, but I havent been disappointed in the slightest.
