Shelby Continuation MSO question

I seen this MSO on ebay and was curious about the "LA" after the CSX number. Can someone claify the "LA" designation?

The pic isn't very clear, is that 4911? The LA is a new one to me. I would guess it might have to do with it's origin (HST or SPF) but that's just a guess. Did you call Shelby and ask?

Perhaps this is the listing? For CSX4011LA

Very interesting. The LA is actually part of the car's number, not just an MSO thing. CSX4011 would have been built in the late 90s, yet this CSX4011LA was built in 2007. Obviously this is a special series car. Perhaps sold by an outside dealer with permission from Shelby and with a special VIN (Shelby does do that).

Confused

The first 10 serial numbers of the 4000 series were initially held back to be later designated to Shelby Employess or to be made into comp cars. I can't remember which. The 4011 LA car is weird because I seem to remember 4011 being built as one of the first 4000 cars.

It's a different series of car, using a similar number but with a suffix. Just like 4007 and 4007R are two different cars, with 4007 being a regular 4000 series and 4007R being a race version car.

numbers

One would think that with all the possible number combo's that they wouldn't have to have hybrids of existing numbers and further muddy the registry water.

Well, they already have 2 or 3 different cars sharing CSX5000 numbers, so why not?

It is an HST car, the MSO has HSTs Mexican address on it. Why would a "Shelby Automobiles" MSO mention HST? They are a supplier, not the Mfr. of record (example, the Ford "Festiva" while built by Kia, had a "Ford" MSO).

But hey, I don't understand a LOT of what happens!:JEKYLHYDE

I'm the owner of CSX4005LA. They were built as completed vehicles (roller and power train) and delivered to Latin America (the LA designation). CSX4011LA is now back on eBay. See my topic here:
