[quote=rsimoes]Part 1

So, what is a Cobra? A very light (2100 lbs) and very powerful (600+ HP) rough, 60's race car on the street. (QUOTE)

This is what I see wrong. If this is what RSIMOES ordered, he ordered a street leagal "RACE CAR". Maybe if he would have toned it down a little and went with a 300-350 HP car (which has more than enough HP for most people in these light cars) he might have had a little bit different experiance. He wants a nice new car with all of the amenities. There is nothing wrong with that.

RSIMOES, To bad the Cobra was not for you. It was a learning experiance and one that you will never forget. Have fun in your new Corvette.

Terry

That's exactly why it's been fun around here for a change.

X, did I just hear you say that Cobras could not compete in today's SCCA GT1 class? Man, prepare for incoming............

Folks...we've had a few people sell their Cobras because of wanting to upgrade or due to changes in financial conditions. But really...how many have we heard about that sold them for lack of air conditioning or power steering?

Rob tried to fulfill a dream and it simply did not work out. But lets keep the damn thing in perspective, shall we. Folks seem to be posting on this thread as if his farewell to arms undercuts the entire premise of owning one of these little basturds (for whatever use you put them to).

It doesn't.

Calm down.

They are like marriages...the hot sex and other shared moments you get on occasion outweighs the PITA you have to live through from time to time. You've got to be a bit stubborn to make the relationship last.

Personally, I plan on growing old with the sumb!tch.

Can't wait to see photos with the handicap placard right next to the Gashole sticker!

Me too - may even keep the car........

The bottomline here is that a cobra is not for everyone and alot of people are drawn in by it's good looks with the allure of all that power. You can't blame them for that. The problem is that you don't know what it really is until you have owned one. It's not for everyone period!

This picture pretty much sums up this entire thread and Rob's school-of-hard-knocks experience:

..haven't you added enough to this thread yet? ;)

Now you throw in an oversized image to mess up everyone's browser?
thanks a lot.

I was right, there is not much more insight that can be added here.

imagine2frolic 09-07-2007 12:47 PM

Is that Buster Keaton crossing the tracks at the top?

Dangerous Doug 09-07-2007 12:54 PM

Wait one minute!

Jamo: You're married AND you get occasional hot sex?!?

I got ripped off...

imagine2frolic 09-07-2007 01:08 PM

Dangerous Doug, I am sure Jamo meant his wife, but he wasn't really specific! There may be hope for you though if you take home some flowers TONIGHT!

Finally, like Mandela put an end to Apartheid, you could help guide those foolish cobra dreamers into the promised land: Chevrolet.
Nelson Mandela?? NELSON MANDELA??? LMFAO!!

  C'mon...

Uh-huh...If Rsimoes were like Nelson Mandela, the Kirkhams and Keith Craft and somebody at Superformance and some other engine builder would all have burning tires around their necks!

Sorry...Can't remember whether I'm supposed to be a "Car Guy" or a...uh...what was the other category...? Nope: I didn't build it but I did write a check. Wrote a whole damn bunch of 'em and I'm still writing. So what's it to ya? I also engineered and fabricated many parts for my car and haven't a moment's doubt that I could have assembled any car I wanted if I hadn't preferred to spend my time driving rather than building. SO FREAKING WHAT? Just because someone doesn't assemble his whole freaking car by himself doesn't necessarily put him in the category of "I can only have a Cobra because I have so freaking much money I can freaking pay someone to freaking build it for me". And if they do, and that's what they want, fine by me, as long as they're happy.

You want to build (buy) a race car? Fine! And You: you want a street car instead? Fine! Seems to me the original cars came both ways, anyway. You want a small block? Fine! A big block? OK by me! Put the motor YOU want in the car YOU want and use it for what YOU want and be freakin' happy!

If more people were more sensible and honest with themselves about having the right cars and motors for them, there would be more guys driving around with bugs on their teeth and fewer cars for sale with 3,000 miles on them.

IMO ;)

Great picture Dean. I wasn't going to post to this because I didn't wan't to "drive into the fog" but that pretty much sums it up.

Hi-tech cobra

computerworks, I may have responded to a troll. My point is our buddy rsimoes has done nothing in the forum but complain about his plight of cobra ownership. He has soiled the reputations of the best companies in the biz (who pay to advertise on this site). His comments have zero credit in my book.

a troll - I have given more advise on how to resolve issues on this forum they you could ever hope too.

your apology is accepted!!!

Brian, in the surrealistic world of internet Cobra-dom, it is important not to lose your sense of humor. It is the essence of the silly argument that has made this so entertaining to some of us. That, and the DH's that piled on to Rsimoes. :p

Roscoe 09-07-2007 07:42 PM

Hey, you think that maybe in between all this we can get a big block/small block debate going???
