Older vs. newer Lakewood FE scattershields

I bought a new Lakewood scattershield from a guy on the forum. It's different than the one in the Kirkham assy. manual. Anyone know if Lakewood made subtle changes over the years? The picture below shows my housing along with a picture from the Kirkham assy. manual with a pen drawing on the Kirkham picture showing the difference.

You have to modify the Lakewood to fit the chassis, the Kirkham manual probably shows one that's already been clearanced.

Also, you really want to cut the bottom section off, so that it's flat. Otherwise you'll be smashing that part of the bellhousing on things.

The KMP mods have been done. It's different from the one used in the KMP assy. manual though.

Where did you get that fork?

The fork is from Kirkham.

I installed the Kirkham setup a couple of weeks ago and it works perfectly with a new Lakewood bellhousing. The only modification other than the trimming I had to do was drilling out the hole for the heim as the assembly manual shows. It looks like the flange above the slave bracket is a little different on your bell.
