Announcing Wheel Chroming Service

Although, some may prefer a powder coated inner and a polished outer, a few like good old chrome wheels!

Here is an option to those few:

Announcing Wheel Chroming Service

10/01/07: Our company has been appointed "Cobra Replica Market" rep for a supplier who does marvelous work on chroming one-piece aluminum wheels. As a test, we had a set of Trigo's done in March of 2007:

The work is near perfect and holds up well; no deterioration at all. So easy to keep clean and nice looking. Chrome wheels compliment any roadster paint color.

So, since the test run was a success, we offer this service to our friends. On Oct 1, 2007 we had another set of one-piece rims sent in for the work. Here are the costs:

$146 a piece for 15" Cobra 427 S/C rims.
Plus shipping $13-16 a wheel approx. each way.

We are hoping for a 4-week turn around, but it may take longer. Call today and we'll get your rims shipped off for chrome plating.

When the spinner gets beat onto the center ring, does any chipping occur where the two come together? Seems like a metal to metal compression that would be tough on chrome.

Good question.
I have not noticed any chipping, but will check and get back to you here.

What about 17" wheel cost?

Larry;

I'm very interested, but have a couple of questions in addition to those asked by madmiles442. I'm not trying to shoot anything down, but I'm sensative to getting value for my hard-earned bucks!

You said: "The work is near perfect and holds up well; no deterioration at all."

What, exactly does "near perfect" mean, and have you seen any of their work used on the street or track long enough to know if there's any deterioration?

I have not seen any chrome chipping by the spinner; pictured here rims after changing from track tire to street rubber. On and off the car several times.

"Near perfect" means that inside the spokes is not polished; chrome plated, yes. Inside the spokes is not needed for a beautiful rim. The people that do the rims specialize in rims for other high end cars like BMW, MB, Hummer, etc. "luxury cars" so "doing it right the first time" is their standard mode of operation.

We had our second set done recently, same beautiful worksmanship:

Again, Trigo rims:

Tried out my rims and gold spinners on the black car;
