Being in the auto repair business for 30 years. I would go with a 2 post asymetrical lift if I could find one to fit the garage. Your options for work will be much wider. Just for the fact of rotating tires let alone any suspension work. Remember the word asymetrical!

P.S.,

I have a symetrical 2 post Direct lift, and it is a hassle to rack anything. Stay away from this particular lift.

I think for the aut repair business the 2 post might have greater options. I am looking for storeage with the abilty to work on the car.

Thanks for your feedback

I have not had a problem getting a car underneath. The Cobra fits with the life at the highest point. The car I put underneath is a XJS which is 48 inch from groud to the top of the roof. Take some good measurement before you purchase.

Priobe,
Austin Snake summed up all my answers to your questions, and did so probably better than I can.:D

I have exactly the same unit as he, with all the options he mentioned, and I've owned my Stinger for 11 years. It's probably the best money I spent to supplement our hobby since Peggy and I opted to buy a Cobra, then a 1966 Mustang, and still have room to park her Maxima in a 2-car garage.;)

My garage ceiling is just 9'3" tall so I eventually had to re-engineer the roof trusses so I could get the Stinger lift fully raised. Now I can also raise the Mustang to the fully elevated position.

Ability to work on the car is why I suggested the 2 post. Everything is accessible, and you can still park a car under it. Having 3 screw stands will allow you to pick up any part of the suspension if ever needed.

If you look at all the builders a 2 post is what they work with. Just go through the builder's sites, and see. good luck
