Going to commit a felony
I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what engine to put in the cobra i will be buying. Well, for bang for the buck.....I think i'll go with a BBC....I mean, come on. It's hard to beat 550 hp and 600ft/lbs for 8.5k. Yeh yeh, im sure i'll get made fun of....but you can laugh at me when i pass you like your sittin' still.
|
And I'll laugh as I pass you broke down on the side of the road! :D
just kidding. I wouldn't put a chevy in mine, but if that's your thing, go for it! No point building the car if you aren't going to enjoy it! |
Its OK as long as you want to devalue the car when you sell it. Having the period correct BBF instead of the BBC is worth more $$$ when you sell it, and it will sell faster.
Good luck, you darksider **) |
Another problem---you won't be passing many other cars with 550 hp--many,many are well over 600--
But you will have only spent 8.5 Jerry |
Nah, I'm just kiddin'.....just being an instigator...but seriously, I plan on a Pond aluminum block, with aluminum heads and billet crank and rods and forged pistons, twm induction with a fast system regulating food for the beast....since i plan on putting it in a hurricane, im sure the motor will cost more than the car....but hey like fsstnotch said, its what i want. only down side is, since i have to piece out the engine because of budget it probably wont be a reality until next spring of '09.

You could go the BBC Chevy route. Just make sure you order the heated rear fender option. Don't want your buddies getting their hands cold when they help push you in the winter!
