GT350 Height
Can someone help me out with the overall Height of a GT350. I am planning a garage expansion and I am thinking through Ceiling heights with a lift, etc. for future cars.
Thanks in Advance |
I just measured my 65 and it is 52" high and 66" wide. Remember that your height my vary based on the suspension, tire size and other factors. I have a 10' ceiling and my Cobra and the Mustang fit nicely on a 4-post lift. Don't forget to factor in the garage door tracks.

make sure your antennae does not stick up above the roof as well , unless it retracts below the max roof measuring point . I added a power antennae to my GT 350 clone to clear the ceiling when it is the top car on my lift ...and if the bottom car on the lift the antennae if not a retractable will hit the cross member of the lift overhead on a 4 poster or possibly the tires hanging down if on a 2 post lift overhead . You might want to do a search on CC for "ceiling height". I've read quite a few threads on this subject, and while many people say at least 10 feet, some strongly recommend 12 feet, if you are tall and/or will use the lift for doing a lot of work under the car. And get doors that hug the ceiling.
One of these days I'm going to blow down my 1 car garage and put up a two car unit with a lift. |
you can see my 2 lifts in my photo gallery . the black gt 350 clone and spf pic shown on the 4 post lift is under a 9-1/2 foot ceiling . while i cant lift the car to max hoist ht due to the ceiling i can fit my 57 bird, spf, 65 mustang or a taurus sized car or new mustang under neath . so, it is not that limiting . however, garage door openers must not be overhead, ceiling lights to the side as well and antennaes cannot be higher than the roof of the cars .
for full hoist lift my center stall is 11-1/2 feet and i can lift a panel truck 6 feet into the air and clear . just built a new house with 10-1/2 foot ceilings which limits my ability to lift any of the 3 cars on either of the 2 hoists to all but the top notch on the hoist, so i miss the final 4 inches of lift - no biggie . 11 feet would be excellent for almost anything ya want to lift .
