Removing the body
I see alot of videos here, youtube and the like of guys "go karting" thier Cobras... This makes me think the body is realitively easy to put on and take off.. I know there would be lighting connections to be made, take off and put on bumpers.. etc etc.. but how hard is taking the body off? Say after its painted and you wanted to swap motors, I would think that job would be alot easier with the body removed am I correct?

You can go-cart a FFR, Hurricane and others that have a body shell that fits over the frame. Unique, Lone Star, Everrett-Morrison and others, you can not go-cart. It's the way the body is build. If the interior tub is molded to the outer body you have to build the car with the body on the frame. It's not easy to take the body off after you have completed the build. Windshield, lights, dash, hood, doors, trunk, etc would have to be removed.

I have never seen a video or anyone in person going karting in their Cobra, and i would be absolutely terrified to do so myself....
but.... the title of your thread is great! :D one of the best i've seen. ;) ok... good luck with an answer. Kristen (i don't think people remove their body on a regular basis, however i'm sure it can be done!) |
