New engine Tap
I have installed a custom built 460 and upon starting have heard a tapping noise under one valve cover. Turning over motor after removal of cover and realize that no oil is being delivered to one rocker arm. Builder sends 2 new lifters and after installation there is no oil still and the same tap. Oil is not being sent through one rod up to the rocker arm. Any suggestions?

Broadkill1;
Load it on a trailer and take it to the engine builder for resolution. You paid for a running engine -- doesn't sound to me like you have that yet.

Probably too simple, but is the pushrod blocked/not drilled or the rocker not drilled from p/rod cup to fulcrum?

Take the whole thing back
Broadkill1 Take the whole car or motor back to the machinist. It's not your job to figure out why the oils not coming out of the lifter or pushrod. If the motor blows up 100 miles from now, what recourse do you have? Also get this in writing and keep on file. Protect yourself. You paided him money for a running motor without any problems. Take it back don't touch any else.:eek: %/ I am sure he is a good machinist but just missed something. peroiling the motor with the valve covers off would have shown this problem after 15 to 30 seconds of running the oil pump.:o I know this sucks, he will make good on the repair.
