Thanks for all the great info, and goodbye!

My experience with a scratch-build has been "a love/hate relationship" to say the least but it would have been much worse without this Forum. I have had my new "Toy" for a couple of months now but still find my self returning here just to see what you all are up to.

When the Cobra sold I almost went for a C2 Vette but decided in the end to spend a year or two in a modern muscle car, (No issues!)

I brought up a 2006 Z06 from California into Vancouver BC and saved 30% in the process. I am a happy boy!

Thanks again, and signing off,

Eliems

What'saCobra? 11-26-2007 05:32 AM

Beautiful car, beautiful picture.

But, don't park it under any trees in stormy weather, where electrical discharge can pop all four channel radio amplifiers at considerable expense after warranty.

Perhaps they have made the main-brain more water-proof than my 1990 Z1. It was also a replacement, due to really wierd behavior of many switched and semi-automated functions.

Best of luck. Don't be a complete stranger. Some say it is bad luck to do a complete station sign-off.

Nice ride but it is a bit civilized for me. I am sure your Cobra had some bad manners as well as serious fuel appitite. Your Corvette is like a fat woman, she will shade you in the summer and warm you in the winter but it just doesn't have the right attitude or ability to attract a spectrum of onlookers like your Cobra did. Best wishes and you really don't need to sign off.

You know you could just keep both toys. I love my Cobra but still enjoy my Corvette.

Good for you, that's a beautiful Corvette! You'll love it.

Black and White my favorite colors. Great combo and your Cobra looks great and very accurate. I bet your insurance is a lot cheaper on your Cobra than your Vette!

I enjoy my z06 and if it starts to seem to slow you can send it to pratt and miller to be changed into c6rs like jay leno, or they have #3 c6r for sale now. You will get attention. Jay lenos car had a mob around it most of time at sema show.

No reason not to have both.. (see sig)

" it just doesn't have the right attitude or ability to attract a spectrum of onlookers like your Cobra did. "

Boy you have got that right! I used to meet everyone with the Cobra, old and young, and the wierdest things would happen with people taking pictures as I drove through an intersection or a Dad asking me to take his little son for a drive when he didn't even know me. Kids go nuts over these cars, "Nice car mister" every where I went.

With the Corvette it is more of a look and then look away, like I might be some sort of Gangster or something. :(

Yes I will miss it and perhaps my next "Toy" will be a Superformance or a Kirkham.

Chow for now, from the great white north. You guys are the best!

Best of Both Worlds

Amen to those who believe in the garage containing a Vette-Cobra tandem: that's just what I'm planning!

Eliems: have fun with your modern plastic car!

They actually co-exist quite well together:D

The insurance on the Cobra is almost twice as much as my Vette. If the Vette is too slow you could always do this. It has 585 rwhp.

Sweet! But I think I will be content with 505 hp at the crank for now. Amazing traction and handling, plenty of excitement for me! :)

Actually, my Cobra would not have kept up with the Z06 without slicks and hot pavement. I have yet to push the button on the console ... need more driving time to get used to going sideways!
