Snow today

It is supposed to snow in Utah today so I guess I will quit holding out for that last great day for a drive and start on the winter projects.
Nothing major this year mostly maintenance stuff:
New Porterfield brake pads on all fours
Repack the front wheel bearings
Add Stabil to the fuel tank
Tighten all bolts
I do have a new radiator shroud that I am going to install as one of my winter to do's!!
What is on your list of things to do for the Cobra this winter?

slithering 11-27-2007 06:17 PM

Hi Terry,

I too will repack the wheel bearings, check all brake pads, install weather stripping on hood and trunk lids and doors. I found a new product from my electrical trade to use as a sleeve for the wiring harness, we'll see how that looks. But, this weekend looks like descent weather, soooo . . . I'M GONNA DRIVE THE CRAP OUT OF IT!!! Sorry. . .

- Paint road rash away
- replace seat belts
- maybe replace brake pedal for more leverage (easier push)
- maybe pads, too
- change oil and filter (yes, it needs a change)
- clean underside
- check shifter bolts
- clean air filter

Did not think the list was that long; better get busy!

Here is what I plan to do periodically during the winter.

Geez Warren, aren't you going to get tired of looking at the same video after a couple of thousand times this winter?

Same video? No way! I shot that video yesterday. As long as the streets are dry and its sunny outside, I'm going for a ride.:p :p Not sunny today and too cold for a ride.

I just came in from the garage as I have to cool off I’m just sweating whey to much, of course it’s the same in the summer months also.

My son bought me a picture of snow which is hanging on my wall here in Florida and that’s as close as I want to come to any SNOW

Dwight 11-28-2007 08:00 PM

Snow??

It's snows in North Alabama every five years, a little bit. We have a wet cold here so you have to turn on the heater, wear gloves, hat, heavy coat, scarf and what ever it takes to go for a ride in the winter. But we can drive all year long.

Dwight, I was expecting your reply to end with, "Neener, Neener!"

Returned from Arizona last night to 2+ inches of the white stuff on the ground at my house and more than 6 inches on the ground at work!!

Time to tear into the Cobra and "Git R Dun"!!!!

I absolutely hate snow. Received a wonderful 7" this Saturday evening, then it started raining Sunday morning and has not stopped. Snow all gone, everything is flooding... crap.

My to-do list:
Install sub strap.
Shim tranny 3/8".
Front end alignment.
Fix t-neck leak.
Clean engine and check all bolts.
Reinforce dash.
Recheck all wiring behind dash.
etc.
etc.
etc.

From the KIRO site.

At Sea-Tac Airport, 3.25 inches of rain fell between midnight at 10 a.m., said KIRO 7 Eyewitness News meteorologist Monty Webb. Eight inches of rain fell in Bremerton.

The record at Sea-Tac for this date is 1.85 inches. With heavy rain continuing to fall, the all-time 24-hour record of 5.02 inches -- set on Oct. 20, 2003 -- could be broken by day’s end, Webb said.

Jeez, that was at least 25 years ago! You've been gone a long time, and Boeing is doing a lot better these days...

Actually it was in the early 70's if I remember right. Maybe late 60's.

I have been at Boeing since 1980 and it was about 10 years prior to my coming to work here.

jdog 12-04-2007 03:10 PM

Your really dating me now!

I remember the sign from while I was still in the Army at Ft Lewis from 1969-1972. I went to work at Boeing in 1975 during the re-build-up after the SST debacle. Bought a real nice house in Burien (from the thousands to choose from, that were abandoned during that time).

Left Boeing in the early 80's and headed for warmer weather in Cali.
