Thats because she had no idea about the potential of the car.
I figured there would be a cell phone stuck in her ear or an eyebrow pencil jabbed into her face.

If you're talking about the red SPF crash video, it was discussed at length here a while back. I think the concensus was that the pass door was not latched and when she left the lot it flew open and she leaned over to try to grab it and stabbed the throttle. You can see it in the video if you look closely.
