Tire pressure?????

I'm sure it's been discussed before but what would a good starting point be for the Goodyear BB's? I just had a set installed on the car (woohoo) and the service guy said 35 lbs. I left the shop and boy were the tires riding like ballons...square ones at that. I expect a little out of roundness until they seat and get the flat spots warmed up but wow. I get home and find out they are more like 40 psi and I let them down to 30 psi. Much better but I was wondering what you guys are running. In the past with BFG TA's I was running 28 fronts and 25 rears. Thanks.

John

24-26 lbs is about all you'll need

It sounds like you are using regular air and not Nitrogen. If your service guy put 35psi and you drove home and rechecked the tires hot it would have read a higher pressure because of the moisture in air and the heat of the tire. With Nitrogen you get less increase in air pressure in the tire when it heats up.No moisture. We use to use bleeders mounted in the rims also but thats more of a race item.As far as pressure it depends on the speed you want to drive at to less and you will sacrifice stability at higher speeds but gain traction on take off. i would run your fronts with alittle more pressure +2psi. but mess with it and find what the car and you like best.
