Cobra's have got to be first --- but how about the lesser mentioned 65 Comet Cyclone.
Do you guys remember Don Nicholson's red AF/X -- 65 Comet Cyclone? A "fast machine" --- Bill

70 Buick GS

Honorable mention - '64 Sport Fury bubble top

AND I do love the '64 Fairlane Thunderbolts.....hope to build a clone of one of those some day.

Does a Cobra qualify as a Muscle car or Sports car ???

either way...most beautiful or best looking to me...

427 SC Cobra ... it just has that "look" ... and of course the muscle .
63 1/2 Galaxie .... mine is Rangoon Red , black interior , 427 dual quad and 4 speed .
`66 or `67 big block Fairlane ( preferably 427 ) .
I`m just a little partial to Ford muscle , but appreciate all of them.

Besides the Cobras-

1968 1/2 Cobra Jet Mustang
1967 Hemi GTX
1969 z/28

birddog 01-30-2008 06:04 PM

1964 289 FIA Cobra
1967 427 Corvette Coupe
1968 Camaro Z28 RS
1969 BOSS 429

Not sure if a Cobra or Vette really fit Muscle Car definition ...but then ..are they really sports cars? Both? No matter ..they have muscle and are beautiful ...therefore close enough.

Tallguy 01-30-2008 06:23 PM

Best of the best by far is the 427 Cobra

67 Shelby Mustang GT500
69 Camaro
65 Corvette 427

And a late models:
09 Corvette ZR-1 "Blue Devil"

1985 CCX 01-30-2008 06:40 PM

My first car!

Never considered this a sports car! It was fast in one direction, heavy braking if you needed to change that direction.
Sports car: (in another thread)
#1 427 Comp
#2 250LM

Steve
The second Boss Mustang in your post looks a little plain-Jane. Maybe you could do something to spice it up? :p:p

How about a real early muscle car - a Studebaker Avanti.

cobra cowboy 01-30-2008 06:58 PM

My buddies 74 Nova might not be classic muscle but running 9's and street legal. Gets it done in my book
