Pic of my car in Grassroots Motorsports Mag
got home, been a long and busy week, picked up the latest GRM, and found a picture of my on page 16, taken at VIR this past summer, at the magazine's Ultimate Track Car challenge, Dennis Olthoff is hunched over the rear wheel changing rear shocks.
Always nice to see one's car in a magazine, this is the third one in this magazine in the past five years. hal |
You beat me to it, Hal!!!
Saw the photo the other day and recognized your car (figured it was Dennis Olthoff's backside :-) The caption reads "Wanted: the Ultimate Track Car" And there it is. The Great Stroker. Congratulations. Jim Kellogg Breesport, NY |
Hal aka #98:
Must be real nice to see your own vehicle in a magazine. Is the # 98 in the site mentioned: CarDomain - The place to show off your car pictures and photos In reading the article, can you clarify. For the Grassroots Motorsports Hankook Challenge: " Naturally aspirated, mass production-based cars running DOT-legal tires that have four cylinders or less are in the Junior Varsity class " Might be an obvious answer , but, .........would you know what vehicles have less than four cylinders , are mass produced and would enter the Challenge? .........thanks |
as i recall from this past summer, it was four classes, for cars built by race shops, and then for home garage guys, for four cylinder cars, and more than four cylinders. Like Mitsu Evo's, Honda's, and the like.
A lot of cars claim huge power, but often can't sustain it and break. Plus some pro drivers, like Tommy Archer and the like. It was fun to participate. \ All the best... |
