Is it a Lonestar?

Hope he's OK. I wonder if he was wearing the full 5 point harness if he was ejected. Maybe the whole seat came out? Yikes.

Lone Star is the manufacture.
The bend in the rear leg roll bar, the funky dash board and the one foot long quick jack rods give it away.

Hopefully the driver is okay!

It looks like a Lone Star to me as well. The dash where the door is open is a great indicator.

Looks like the car is a loss but as long as the driver is OK or will be OK the car can be replaced. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

Hopefully the seatbelts were bolted to the frame and not to the seat per se....meaning hopefully the seat is bolted to the frame with GRADE 8 bolts. Boy I feel sorry for this guy. I hope he comes out of it. Now I am glad I have at least 4 point and will now consider submarine belt too.

It was 30 degrees at most here yesterday. Surprising weather to be driving one of these without a top. Cold hard tires and high HP not a good mix.

Driver critical but stable after hitting utility pole

By Heather Yakin
February 23, 2008 6:00 AM
MIDDLETOWN — The man injured when his kit roadster hit a utility pole Thursday was in critical but stable condition yesterday at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, police say.
Frank Bruno, 39, of Chester, broke both legs and suffered a head injury in the crash, Middletown police said.
About 5 p.m. Thursday, Bruno veered off Highland Avenue Extension in his custom-kit car, a sporty open-top Shelby AC Cobra, and hit a utility pole.
Bruno was thrown from the car. Police said it’s not clear if he was wearing a seat belt. The crash is under investigation.

I got calls all day long. Friends thought it was me. I grew up in that town.

It was about 30 degrees that day, I think we all know what happened. I dont recall ever seeing that car, it may have been new to him.

Rich_C_21 02-27-2008 10:42 AM

Someone from the Train thought it was me, until they saw my regular ride in the parking lot at the station. I should be getting my car in a few weeks, it is almost ready.

khansmith 02-27-2008 10:45 AM

good to hear that the guy is stable!
