In Wa. state you are required to have a front plate UNLESS your car is registered as a 1965 or 1966. Then you can get collector plates or restored plates and not only never have to re-new them, you don't have to have a front plate.

If you really aren't sure if you need a front plate light, you shouldn't be driving.

New York Worlds Fair 64 / 65 plate only required 1 I believe. If your regi is for either year you could p/u a plate at a swapmeet or ebay and use it.
