Well Thanks for all the information, and the world wide web sure has helped!! I have about 5 dealers competing to sell me their car! The most expensive is 600 over invoice.

The 0% for 60 months (2007) got me lookin again, but now that I know there is so much competition with Vette sales, especially with the piss poor economy, I am going to wait for the 2009 cars or as some dealers have speculated the 2008's will be flyin off the shelves when the 2009's hit the street!

Info for those who are drooling over the 0% for 60 months (2007 only), there are alot of cars out there, not all in California but there are a ton of deals! I am just gonna wait for the 436hp (LS3 with exhaust) version or better. Thanks again!

PS dont tell the clowns on SCOF, oops Dean already knows! DOnt tell Dean!

The 2008 base Corvette with the Z51 option, same performance as a 2002 Z06:

That approach paid off with a blistering 4.1-second dash to 60 mph en route to a 12.5-second, 115.0-mph quarter mile. Those figures line up almost perfectly with those of our best 2002 C5-generation Z06. No surprise, really-that car made, ahem, "only" 405 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.

I'm just gonna have to stick with my daily driver, an ole '87 Z51 coupe, 255,000 miles so far without having a head off, 26 MPG on the road and still fun to drive. Lots of ricers are quicker until the mountain roads come up. When it finally stops running, I have to donate it to a local high school auto shop. Or possible the Haight Ashbury Free Clinic. ;) Rich

Ryan, good call. Those valves on the inside exhaust pipes look sinister.

Don is right...the newest base C6 can now hang with the C5 Z06. It's called "progress" and "refinement." The GM engineers are doing some amazing things with the LS platform. Pushrod engines still work just fine. :3DSMILE:

Rich, I previously had a '93...loved my C4, too. That's a GREAT idea to someday donate a well-worn 'Vette to an autoshop (tax write-off great than cash value).
