Last Bugs to work out before road worthy
1.) The clutch is not getting pressure, I have a wilwood hydrolic slave cylinder we went to bleed it and no luck , flush alot of old fluid out but still no dice.
2.) Oil pressure gauge goes to the far right once it's turned on, then once engine is started goes to the 1 on the vdo gauge, I'm going to hook up a freinds gauge to make sure mine is working right 3.) throttle sticks when pedal is depressed and no it's not getting stuck on the carpet, any ideas I'm going to lube the cable in the morning The car sat for 3 months with out an engine and a new bigger engine was put in but no clearance issues with the above mentioned items |
1) flushing the clutch is a pain because it doesn't take long ot empty the reservoir, I found a small oil squirt bottle works well. chances are you still have air.
2) check the ground strap ( I had the same problem but I can't remember exactly how I fixed it) 3) Is this the same carb as the previous engine? it might need an additional return spring. |

2.) only thing that changed was the gauge wire, power wire and ground were untouched 3.) it returns fine if done at the carb, I think I have an issue with my actual cable |
For bleeding the clutch, is the bleeder valve pointed up?

fixed #3 and let it run for 10-15 minutes to check for any leaks, found one off the upper radiator hose, fixed it while the car was running, now just letting it cool down before I go after the clutch ( however after the run time clutch started gettng some pressure)
|
The bleeder has to be up to get that little bit of air out from the top of the cylinder. You may have to bend the hose a bit to make it happen but it will make a difference.

Well found out my master cylinder is possibly bad it is leaking by the pedal through therubber gromet, so I posted a new thread about this issue and what part they use as far as from what car
|
If I recall it is from a 70-80's VW Rabbit. Try a 83-84 Rabbit GTI it was the last of the series so it would have the "newest" parts.

Hopefully the larger master won't cause any pressure problems. I think you should be just fine though.
