It's going to get a lot worse!

After reading that some states were considering special greenhouse gas taxes on engines based on cu in. I thought I had seen it all until I saw the latest Connecticut legislation. Of particular interest is the attempt to reduce CO2 in fuels. There is even an attempt to increase the ethanol content to 15-20 percent being considered. These legislaters have no idea what that would mean. Just for kicks, I've added the basic outline of the proposed legislation to this post. God help us!

"AN ACT CONCERNING CONNECTICUT GLOBAL WARMING SOLUTIONS.

To create a schedule for the state to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, to create a state-wide program for such reduction, to create the Climate Change Impacts Subcommittee, to require certain facilities to report their greenhouse gas emissions, to require low-carbon fuel standards for all motor vehicle and home heating fuels sold in the state, to prohibit load-serving entities from entering into agreements that would exceed a certain carbon dioxide limit, to require state agencies to include an analysis of greenhouse gas emissions when conducting an environmental review of a new program, to require that the State Building Code be revised to reflect more stringent energy standards, to create a new class of certified energy inspectors, to require all new construction and major renovation to be certified by such inspectors and to eliminate the requirement that Office of Policy and Management submit a report regarding state carbon dioxide emissions.

:p

Sounds as if they are laying the ground work to employ a lot of their friends at big wages. How come you don't have to have your lawnmowers and garden equipment smog tested? I must send an e-mail to the state legislature back there reminding them they missed that. :D

I'm sure in the future, there will be many gear-heads who will be forced to buy 55 gallon drums of race fuel and have them stuck in their garages. When I was into racing a quad, I had a 55 gallon drum in my garage filled with 112 octane gas for my 14 to 1 compression quad...some day the same will be said for the Cobra.
