Rick:

Peter sold his 427 Cobra CSX3252 a couple of years back. It was subsequently sold at Russo and Steele auction for some 2 1/2 times your figure. We had more than one "knowledgeable expert" come up to us at a car show when it was parked along side Peter's ERA clone car and say that it wasn't an original Cobra.

Most folks don't have a clue as to what they're looking at

As for the prior post suggesting Peter Portante had an original FIA car he wanted to sell for $300k a couple of years ago, ah, no. He has never owned one.

Pete owned an original street 289 back in the '70s (crashed car bought for less than $3k  ), but not an FIA.

Peter actually paid $725.55 at an insurance salvage auction for his first small block Cobra. It had been bent around a telephone pole. He and Phil Gaudette straightened the frame, put it back together and he drove off in it with $60.00 in his pocket to his first job in the midwest as a doorknob salesman.

He subsequently sold the car for $7,000 (albeit 35 years ago). The car is still running around in Mich somewhere...
