Found a Really Cool Licensed Cobra Die Cast

I was at my local auto parts store today to pick up a carb rebuild kit. It the front window was a poster of a blue 427 SC and it said "Buy 2 Wix filters and Get this Shelby Cobra for $27.99. So Since I was there, I asked to see it. It is a special release licensed and numbered Die cast cobra in a collector box with a caertficate of autenticity. Since it was exactly the same color as my car, i decided to get it. They have even put discoloration on the side pipes at the collectors as a real one would have. If you get by a parts store check it out.

I'm sure to glad to know it was licensed. Wouldn't want to have any illegal Cobra models stashed about the house...

Mike: How much is Wix payin' ole Shel for the license? We gotta help him payoff the note on that new 'Vegas cafe that's openin' up tonight!
Just curious....Is the country of origin on this "licensed" diecast China? Just don't want you to be exposed to lead paint! Maybe you could put it under an acrylic cover.

Is there actually anything left you can buy in this country that is not made in China? I just found out that Comp Cams gets their cam cores from China. Everything i see at Costco comes from China. I guess "American Made" is a thing of the past. I bet 90% of everything we buy comes form China anymore. It is a sad commentary on the state of our country.

I just scored the same model on clearance for $12.00!!! I have to admit it is an excellent value, I have one from franklin mint $1?? dollars and I have to say this is 99% as good. The doors, hood, trunk open, suspension works with steering wheel, 95% of the detail of the franklin mint. Paint job is excellent also. If you are buy a Oreily (used to be hi-lo) pick one up if there are any left.

Off Topic Some

Everything in China, well not really. Look at the bottom of your furniture/dining chairs, if you've purchased some within the last couple of years.

Viet Nam !!

That it, I just went and looked and I have the gold carb also, I did not realize it until your photo's!!! I may have to rework the front suspension, mine sits a little high. I have to admit the steering wheel works better than the one on my franklin mint. Ok, I will come out and admit, i purchased two more LOL!!!
