Not a clue. Certainly a low cost way to advertise though. I would hang on to the checkbook for a while. :)

Did not know Erson made Crankshafts??

Nedsel 04-13-2008 07:15 PM

Any time a seller describes the condition as "out of this world" or something similar, it's time to move on to the next ad.

mobilenuke 04-13-2008 07:45 PM

Looks like they are trying to be a new builder as they are taking orders for cars.

...looking at the details of the ad.

Appears to be sourced from Indy Mustang Unlimited.

Indy Mustang Performance has closed its doors. The new company owned by Monty Glover is operating under the name of Indy Mustang Unlimited - they have all of the assets and equipment and parts that were owned by Indy Mustang Performance.
...same name as "engine builder"

Wasn't there a replica company located in Indy that offered neoclassic replicas like the Auburn, etc., and they also had a 427 SC that had body proportions that were a little larger...may have tried to use some 'Vette components.....I want to say their name was Legendary.......something? Anyhow the car in the photo seems to have some extra wide fender flares not unlike the ones I remembered....I wish them the best of luck, its tough out their right now for any entrepeneur!

Guages: all functional

Damn, and I wanted a Cobra with broken gauges.

Elegant Motors.

They made a 'standard' 427, a larger 427 and a winged/air dam equipped thing call the "Attack" which was based on the larger 427.

There was also the bigger Cobra that was a Corvette rebody called the Cobrette.

But none of them have the rear fender flares that the Cobra replica referenced in the original post has.

Your pal,
Meat.

BEWARE - just do a Google on "Indy Mustang Unlimited".

The first two entries are legal documents brought against "them".

Double Venom 04-14-2008 04:45 AM

If this is the same guy that built motors from used and WRONG MIXED parts, was sued into submission............. Then in the infamous words of WTM 442. "BEWARE"!

Funny how at the last car show in Indy (about a month ago) at the Fairgrounds...I don't recall seeing a booth for any Cobras...and everyother vender in town was there.

jimw427 04-14-2008 05:17 AM

This add says beware all over it.

Built only 1 so far and sold in 5 days in Palm Beach and building 4 more for people that are in awe. Way over the top for me, this says go slowly and use extreme caution.

Body
Color: blue
Paint: the best
Condition: out of this world

I am getting mine painted, I wich I would have told them the use the "Best" paint, then the condition of mine could have been "Out of this world".

Jim

Nedsel 04-14-2008 08:56 AM

On the other hand, it could be that people have looked at the manufacturer's work, and asked him what planet he was from. Maybe that's why he describes it as "out of this world" ?

Doug I 04-14-2008 09:42 AM

Fuel System : fuel tank

so a paint can with a plastic hose sitting in the passengers footwell isn't something we should be using? deeeyammm

Don McCain 04-14-2008 10:34 AM

Looks as if it has a small block FORD engine as Dart does not make heads for the FE engine.
Why would they make the statement "payable in US dollars" if they are a US company?
I'll take Euro's............................................ ..................................

On first look it has a few unusual points like the side louvers, exhaust wheels etc, I think if this is the best in world, then most of us have much better in our sheds!!

I agree "Beware Beware Beware"
