Which lift?

Which lift?
First off thanks who all chimed in with car lift opinions on my last post.
Today’s question which one?
I think I will go with a 4 post.
Tell me the good and bad points if any with your 4 post lift and where to buy with best price.
Thanks

a lot of lifts out there....I have installed three now (including my own) and wouldn't choose any other lift that something with the collar over design like Backyard buddy. I think there is another one out there called Classic car lifts (I think it is out of fort worth, tx).

I am not knocking any other lifts, but I chose Backyard Buddy after about a year of research. If you want to know more, PM me. Remember you will put your pride and joy on it and your life under it...don't think you want to go too cheap here.

I have a Direct-lift. Got it from Greg Smith in Indy, In. For the money it is a great lift. I would buy another one. If I needed it. Was under $2000. with shipping. It is a very sound unit, and easy to assemble.

I have two lifts a Back Yard Buddy and an All American Lift. Both are collar design and both are well built and SAFE. I have built two Direct Lifts which use the open channel design and they are scarey and in my opinion unsafe. They sway with a heavy car on them (Chevelle in this case) and use lighter duty hardware then the Back Yard Buddy or The All American. You will pay more for a collar design lift but it is a safer lift. Again all thoughts are opinions based on my observations and experiences.

Metro Lift in Ft. Worth has a red unbranded version that I bought from them about 18 months ago and it is quite good. It is an 8,000lbs lift with covered cables and a large motor. the jack trays are strong enough to support the weight of a Chevy Tahoe.. go to BendPak Model HD-9-B and call them to ask about their red unbranded version.
