Wheel Well Liner
Anyone know where I could purchase wheel Well liner for my Backdraft Cobra?
Found for FFR, but not for BDR. Wheel Well Liners Any experience? Dex.... |
Dex, if you're careful and can handle a razor blade, masking tape and have some patience, you can make your own and do it yourself. I did my SPF by buying black sheets of 1/8" foam rubber from a hobby/crafts store. Then cut to fit for each wheel well (given how they curve, you might need 6-8 different pieces that you put together like an upside down jigsaw puzzle). Clean the inner wheelwells very thoroughly with wax & grease remover, then start on one end and use 3M spray adhesive (contact cement in a can). Trim to within 1/4" of the wheel well lip. And once dry, mask everything off (including the outer painted lip) and spray on 2-3 coats of any rubberized bed liner (I used some from Blue Magic and it worked great).
I will admit that it's a bit of a job and you can kill a whole weekend doing it right. But it works! Good luck, -Dean |
You may want to to call Top of the Hill in Livermore CA. I purchased the pads for my SPF. I would ask Craig there is they have something for the BDR. Take a look at mt gallery and you can see some pictures of how we installed it.

I just got done applying Hurculiner bed liner to my wheel wells. It was a pain in the butt, but turned out pretty good. I got 6 coats on it from the 1 gallon that I bought.

Craig Hill at TOTH. I did my SPF last summer and it's still in place. A little pricey but a fine product. 925-449-3330 www.topofthehillpc.com
I used a 2 or 3 inch paint roller to adhere the material to the fender. It worked very well. The pieces were cut to fit my SPF. Bob |

I'm going to a local body shop today to see what they charge and when they can spray my wheel wells. I'll post a follow up.

The material form TOTH is black and about 5/16 thick. You can't even see it under the fender.
