Polished works for me, discoloration is battle scars. Stainless mufflers by Flowmaster have imperfections, but it looks great. |
Can you post a pic of your mirrors up close please?

There are two manufacturers of ss pipes for a SPF firefly and gas-n. I bought a pair for a little more muffling and since I was seeing some rust between individual pipes just before the collectors. The ss pipes discolor between the body exit and the collectors, and yes they get very hot but so did the stock steel powder coated pipes. I kind of like the dis coloring, the advantage of the ss pipes is the elimination of rust and the fact that you can polish out scratches...I would be a bit leery of chrome, as I think you have to get the pipes flawlessly clean before chroming (as with any coating process-especially I would think since you are electroplating) and still always have the specter of rust under the chrome...

For those that want to remove the discoloration from their Stainless sidepipes:
Compound 302. This stuff is amazing. Paint it on, allow to stand for a couple minutes, wash off with water, then wash off with dish soap and water. Thats it!! Available from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Harris-ARCP30.../dp/B004RIDHLU |

Doesn't look like you have wind wings and brackets right now, you'll need those. Better picture of pipes and mirrors. Would love to see your car next season. Roy http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...ium/pipes_.jpg |
Roy do you mean I need the side wings to mount the mirror or just for my comfort?

Terry can help you either way, but are there set screws in your windframe ? I'm thinking you don't want to be drilling there. Mine mounted to wind wing hardware. |
I guess there are no set screws. I was assuming I'd need to drill some.
