I only had a couple hundred miles on the carbon car before I went on the New Years day run to Yarnell hill in AZ. I was hesitant for a couple reasons. It was really cold (had the windscreen on) and the car hadn't been more than 25 miles from home. The car ran well and didn't care or know where it was. duh

Saturday I'll be taking it to a car show about 30 miles from my place so by the time I get home later in the day, I'm sure I will have put about 60 -70 miles on it.

I know we did a good job building it & it will probably be just fine but I can't help feeling a little apprehensive. My wife tells to just get in it & take it for a long ride, that's what I made it for & I know she's right.

Anybody else ever feel this way or is it just me?

Took the car to the show yesterday, put about 70 miles on it & it ran just great!:3DSMILE:

It earned a lot of my trust, I think I'm ready to really drive it just about anywhere now!

Thanks for all the comments!

the more you drive it the more comfortable you will get. And you will begin to know all it's quirks etc. HAd a starter I had to bank on somtimes to get to work: just did not turn off when I stopped for fuel.

Had a Ferrari for 10, years, put on 10,000 miles . Obsessed over every mile.Decided never again: my cars are drivers. Chips/nicks are taken as a badge of courage!

Enjoy!!!!! cb

You need several smaller shakedown cruises.

As long as you have not picked full race style ignition components your ignition should be OK.

I have had more Acell & MSD distributors fail than any other brand.

Keep a swiss army knife in your pocket and a little tool kit in the trunk and you should be OK. (and a AAA card in your wallet)
