12 volt winch question
Hi all,
I'm looking to get a small 12 volt electric winch so I can load and unload my GT40 into my enclosed trailer by myself. As you probably know, you can't drive in as you can't bailout the window. Has anyone had experience with one of those inexpensive remote controlled jobs ? If so, what are you using. Thanks ! Eric |
How inexpensive? We use Superwinch's at work and they work great. They are in the $200-300 range.
You can get them for under $100 at Harbor Freight...but I don't know if I'd trust a high dollar car to a Harbor Freight winch. LOL |
I used a 2000lb for a number of years, got a good deal on it, for my 2750 lb. race car, dove tail, open trailer, it was marginal at best.........Harbor Frieght recently had a sale and I bought a 3000 pounder, I would suggest nothing less than 3000lbs..........

Thanks...
I will not be trailering that often. Maybe twice a year , so the Harbor Freight 3000lb job might be adequate. I see they have one on sale for 72.00 at present. I like the wireless remote feature that will make it easier lining it up as I winch it in ( backwards first). |
