OMG I thought I was the only one in the world that loves that movie. I remember the first day I saw it when I was a kid, I was inspired! Today I have seen it so many times I know it word for word. I just wanted to be Bannon when I grew up.....done that.:3DSMILE:

I second that. It's beautiful to see that cobra out accelerate the ferrari.

Do you remember the price of gas when they pulled into the gas station???

cobra25 07-02-2008 06:32 PM

How nice that Cobra sounds when it rolls in the gas station.

Jamo 07-02-2008 06:50 PM

Bill...one of your greatest threads. ;)

Here's a Raul Julia/Franco collection, including the gas station. Priceless.

When the time came that I was searching for a cobra, I really wanted a blue one. I think watching the gumball rally had a lot to do with that. I still feel that the car in the movie is the right color and has the right looks.

Gumball

I just happen to have an original movie poster, forget the actual offical name for these things. The posters that went into the glass cases, at the movie theater.

I've had it forever, one of these days I need to get it out and hang it. Poster is actually different from the Cobra in the movie. The Cobra on the poster is RED.

jay bentley 07-02-2008 07:36 PM

I think on the vhs movie jacket I have of the movie that the cobra is red or pinkish if I remember correctly.

Fox,
You need to brush up a little on your Ferraris. ;)
The Dino was the "baby" Ferrari, the 365 GTB/4 "Daytona" was the big Daddy.
In classic Ferrari terms, the Daytona is a real bargin at the moment if anyone fancies one to accompany their Cobra. But don't expect it to stay that way for long. :MECOOL:

Well since nearly all us have replica Cobras it would be more appropriate to get one of those Vette-based 'Don Johnson' Daytona replicas anyway.

Not to go too far off track with this thread but the 246 Dino did not have any Ferrari badges. It was to be its own marque.
Ferrari selected Fiat for the engine production and this was the first move that eventually saw Fiat owning controlling interest in Ferrari’s street vehicles
