Need Info (HELP) On 97 EM

My apologies in advance as I am new to posting. I am looking at a 1997 96" Everett Morrison with a ZZ4 HO 350 Ahh, chevy- engine and a 700r4 automatic trans. Can anyone tell me anything good bad or indifferent about this year and configuration of EM? It looks nice but I have no experience with EM and am frankly concerned about A. the 96" wheelbase and B. I don't see many EM's for sale. Any comments quickly will be appreciated!
Thanks,

E-M has made cobras for many years and is a high quality 4" tube mainrail chassis--The reason you don't see many for sale is because the owners of them keep them for years and years--many have well over 50,000 miles. They also have over the years made various cars that were up to 96 wb which drives much more docile than a shorter 90 wb car. The reason you see more say superformance cars for sale is because there are probably more of them than any other make and arrive as rollers painted and upholstered--just add over powered engine and trans, drive them 100 miles, scare yourself or a family member, decide you would rather have mild mannered vette or porshe and sell the cobra----any other questions??

Dado,
My EM is about the same vintage. I bought the frame in '97 and then the body in '98.
The car is very strong. I would not hesitate to look at a 10 year old EM. Mine has 62,000 miles on it and has had very few problems. The 96" wheel base should give you plenty of room in the cockpit. As to not being the "origional" WB I wouldn't worry about it. EM did an excelent job sorting out a product before they sold it, so I'd be willing to be the car drives great.

As to getting parts that's another issue. If you have good documentation on what suspension you have you can get parts from anyone. Roll bar and soft top would be best to get from EM. Hopefuly Julie will get things settled done and be able to help you out. If not you can always get parts from the many suppliers and have a local fabricator install them.

For example I now have Factory five side pipes on mine, and my side curtains came from a 3rd party vendor.

Good luck with it!

Harvey R.
